Expert reports in manual handling usually identify the person's manual handling needs currently and in the future, including any specific equipment that may be needed and how many assistants are required. These reports are often requested after an assessment by a care expert, when it is felt that more specialist knowledge of this field is needed.
On occasion, a Claimant has been harmed as a result of manual handling going wrong in a clinical or care setting and an expert report is needed to clarify the current standards and to comment on causation and liability.
